Tropic Thunder REVIEW

A group of well known actors get together to make the most expensive and greatest war movie of all time. Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., and others are cast in this hilarious comedy. They at first think they are making movie, when in fact they are living the reality.

Well lets just say that this movie can definitely make me smile. The witty humor in this movie just makes it a great comedy for you to enjoy. Ben Stiller, Etan Cohen, and Justin Theroux come together to write this screenplay. It is extremely enjoyable and you won't regret watching this movie. It might have a little of what I like to call "stupid-humor" but its not over powering and that is what helps make it enjoyable. Another thing this movie has going for it is it's cast. Included in this film is: Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise, Jay Baruchel, Brandon T. Jackson, and many other people you will recognize. This cast makes this movie. Each and every single actor and actress in this film do an outstanding job and I do love when I movie does a great job at casting their characters. They work together perfectly and make the movie even more funny. I still can't believe that Robert Downey Jr. actually got an Oscar nomination for his performance in this film, but every time I watch it I begin to believe it more and more. Why? Well I have a hard time seeing Robert in this film, he really does become his character, just like his actual character does in the movie. Very well done Robert. Ben Stiller directs this movie and I will say that he did a pretty good job. Nothing really bothered me with it. As for acting and directing, good job.

So what didn't I like about the movie? Well their was some unanswered questions left out there and it went a little over the top at one point with its "stupid-humor." Other than that though I really enjoyed this movie.

What will I rate this movie? HM, well it is going to get a solid 4.5/5 stars! I would recommend buying this movie, even on Blu-ray disc. It is totally worth it because you will want to watch it over and over again. It will make a good comedy night movie for a popcorn night with friends or family. So if you haven't seen it yet, make sure you go check it out!!!

P.S. On a side note actually this movie has a special guest star in it, that I absolutely was not expecting! The plus side is I LOVE who plays Les Grossman. If you don't know who does, look it up! I never would have guessed, and I find it HILARIOUS!

Evil Dead REVIEW

It is now time for a review of the terrifying remake of a film originally released in 1981, Evil Dead. This film was just released this past weekend, April 5th, 2013. In this film a group of friends go to a cabin in a remote area to help one girl named, Mia, in the group. Mia has a drug addiction, so she is here to try and get over her addiction before it kills her. While at this cabin, Eric, one of the guys of the group, finds a book that when read releases . . . evil.

Now in Evil Dead the acting is not the greatest, but it is not down right terrible. What I mean by this is the fact that it is bearable, but there really isn't any development with them. You don't give a shit about anyone in this story, and I think that is the point really but I will not say much as to give it away. Now yes there is killing and ways of blood and gore in this film. Some of the things that transpire in this film are pretty darn unbelievable. There are times when a person should have been killed by three acts of what should have been murder but yet they are still not dead. I mean come on, get a little realistic please. Last thing I wanted to mention was the fact that near the end of the film it felt like it had ended three different times. I was relieved several different times but mislead each time.

Evil Dead actually was a very disturbing scary movie. I can honestly say as a 18 year-old guy that I had my hands over my face for at least 50% of the film. It was just filled with gore. The movie was still quite scary, but I would say a disturbing scary. When a scary movie can keep me on my toes and keep my hands near my face the whole time I will have to say that it was a good scary movie. The other thing I kind of found interesting was the story a little bit. It did in fact keep me intrigued. I do have to be honest with that.

Rating this movie I would have to say that it is a worthy 3/5 stars. How would I recommend this to other people? Hm, well if you are having a scary movie night this movie would be good. It will have you cringing. So my recommendation is rent, not worth a buy.

Django Unchained REVIEW

It is now time for a review of Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," which is said to be his best film yet. In this film we follow the story of a black slave named, Django. He helps a bounty-hunter, but then is freed. With his freedom and money he made while becoming a bounty hunter, he goes on an adventure to free his wife who is enslaved by Mr. Calvin Candy, played by the great, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Now what did I hate about this movie? Hm, that is a very good question I suppose because I am not able to think of anything that I disliked about this movie. I suppose I could say that this movie seems to be a bit long, but when I say that I usually have a suggestion to where they could take something out of the film. When I think about it though, I cannot think of a single part they should have taken out of the film to make it shorter. The film flows perfectly, and each scene within it is relevant.

Now what about the positives from "Django Unchained," what were they? I shall begin with the amazing cast behind this film. Jamie Fox, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson are all in this film. Each and every single one of those actors/actresses steal each scene they are in. The entire cast just does a great job with their characters and it makes for a very, VERY enjoyable film! When watching the Oscar's this past February I was extremely happy that Christoph Waltz finally won an Oscar for his performances in one of Quentin's films. While we are talking about Quentin and the Oscar's, I will have to say that this film and Quentin definitely deserved to win the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Over the competition this film was for sure the best one out there this year. So I would like to say congrats to him for finally winning another Oscar again. Quentin is defiantly a great screenwriter, and he does make really good movies. Another positive to mention was just how badass enjoyable this movie was. You have no idea how much I actually did enjoy this movie. You just sit through the whole film think how freaking badass of them to actually do that. If you have no seen this I would highly recommend that you do. It is actually out on iTunes right now so if you wanted to you could pick it up there.

So as an overall rating I will give "Django Unchained" a 4.5/5 rating. This still makes it incredibly amazing and a for sure MUST-SEE film.

Les Misérables REVIEW

Well hello there, first thing is first, I do want to apologize for the lateness of this review. I know I said awhile back that I would be back to do reviews, and I am going to say it again here. So yeah I am back to reviewing movies because I have begun to miss it quite a bit. I am hoping to be back for good now, but time will tell. I hope to do these reviews quite frequent, but all I am doing is the reviews. Nothing fancy because this right now is all I have time for. So please do enjoy this review of the musical phenomenon, "Les Misérables."

In this film it follows the story of a french man named, Jean Valjean (played by Hugh Jackman), and this film takes place in 19th century France. He is on the run from Javert (played by Russell Crowe), who is a policeman hunting Jean down for breaking parole. Along Jean's journey he crosses paths with a woman who has fallen ill, he takes in her child. This decision changes their fates forever.

So what positive things do I have to say about this movie? Well let me begin with the music. Of course we all knew that it was going to be amazing, but I never thought it was going to be this great. Hugh Jackman did an OUTSTANDING job. His first solo song right before it cuts to so many years later was just amazing. I literally clapped the first and second time I watched it. Well done sir. I have not yet laid eyes on "Lincoln" but I am right now saying that Hugh should have gotten the Oscar. Anne Hathaway was barely in the movie. I was surprised how little she was in it, but for the amount that she was in it, she definitely deserved her Oscar for her performance. Every single actor in this film did a great job with their performance and with their singing. The songs were just inviting and enjoyable. Trust me when I say that you will find yourself singing the songs later in your day after watching this film. Another thing is that you will want to buy the full soundtrack of this film. It is just that good. The message of this film was also very good. I found this movie to be extremely heartfelt and very touching. I cried maybe three times throughout this movie.

I will now move onto the negatives of this film which are quite short. First thing is first, this movie can get to be a little to long. What I mean by this is the fact that you get bored because it is A LOT of singing. The first time watching it was super boring because I did not know all the songs, but the more you watch the movie . . . the more it grows on you. The second thing I want to say is Russell Crowe's singing. Ugh not terrible but I am sure they could have picked someone with way more talent than him.

All-in-all I am going to have to say that that this movie is for sure a 4/5 rating and that I would for sure and did buy it on Blu-Ray. I really enjoyed it and I will enjoy it for years and years. Kind of want to watch it after I am done with this review. To end this glorious return review I am going to have to say thanks for remaining loyal to me and to the reviews. I am glad to be back, so stay tuned.
