TRAILER OF THE WEEK: American Hustle
Its Wednesday and that means it is Trailer of the Week time!!! This weeks trailer is for a movie due out also on December 25th, 2013, and it is for American Hustle. This film is about a con man, Irving Rosenfeld, along with his seductive British partner, Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for a wild FBI adent, Richie DiMaso. DiMas pushes them into a world of Jersey power-brokers and mafia (source: IMDb).
Well now we get to why I picked this trailer this week. There are a few reasons why I picked this film, and one of them is being the cast of the film. The main cast of this film includes: Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Robert De Niro, and Jeremy Renner. I love each and every one of these actor/actresses. They are all fantastic in everything they do and now we have a movie with all of them together. Next I wanted to mention the director of this movie. David O. Russell is a great director. Silver Linings Playbook last year was absolutely fantastic and I am really excited to see what he does with this movie. I love mob movies like my favorite movie of all time, The Departed. This story of the movie seems like a very good mob movie and I am excited to see this film. This movie should definitely on anyones radar because it is for sure going to be up for Oscar talks.
To watch this trailer, just check out the sidebar this week to see it, otherwise go check it out on YouTube. I have already added this movie to my watch list and I recommend if you like serious dramas and mob movies you should do the same. It seems like a very good film and we will just have to wait and see how it is on December 25th, 2013. Well make sure you stay tuned here at the Motion Picture Buff for the review of American Hustle because I will be checking this movie out in theaters. Make sure you also stay tuned for more reviews and movie talk . . . coming soon.

The Words REVIEW
The "Motion Picture Buff" would like to present a review for the motion picture "The Words" which opened this weekend. In this film a writer at the top of his literary success must realize the price he has got to pay for stealing another man's work.
So shall we start of with the positives from this film? Well I am going to say firstly that I throughly enjoyed this film. The premise of this film was great, that is what had brought me into this wanting to see this movie. Did this movie do the premise justice? Well since I am talking about it in the positive section I am sure you can assume that yes it did. The story line this movie took was incredible and I felt like it flowed perfectly. I like how well the movie went in between each story that it was telling. It kept up with each three of its stories pretty well, and I like how it all connected together. The direction of this film was good too, and that is probably what had helped flow good. The acting from Bradley Cooper was just outstanding, he always seems to do a very good job in any film he is in. Jeremy Irons also was perfect for his character. I loved how good he was with the emotions of his character. At some points you really feel sorry for him, but at the same time you do understand why Bradley's character, Rory, did what he did. The two actors here did an amazing job with there performances and made me really enjoy this movie more. I will not forget though of course Zoƫ Saldana, Olivia Wilde, and Dennis Quad's performances too. They also did a really good job. I had also like the costumes for this film. Now if I mention costumes for a movie (which is very RARE) they have got to be good, otherwise I would never really mention them. Oh I do want to mention that I also thought the score of the film did a good job of adding the tone to the film.
What really had bugged me about this film was three things that were pretty major. The first thing I want to mention is that this movie had theses scenes where they moved extremely slow. You were sitting there watching what was happening and all I could think to myself was, "Okay now show me the next part, cut to something a little more interesting." I just felt like some shots in the film were too long. The next thing I wanted to talk about was that the only conflict really in this film didn't really seem to shine! It seemed like there could have been a big conflict, but then it didn't become one and the conflict it ran with was never really solved. The last thing was the ending of this film . . . it just seemed to end. Just bam all of a sudden you knew it was going to end.
So all-in-all this film had a good premise and seemed to do a very good presenting it in an enjoyable film. "The Words" just seemed to have some slower parts to it and the ending was a little disappointing. I would have to say it is "DVD buy worthy" its something that you and your girl (or for you ladies reading, for you and your guy) to enjoy which you will. It has a couple good love stories in it that you wouldn't expect. You might want to watch it again someday, but I am not going to say it is a "must-see film." I enjoyed it quite a bit, and on a scale out of five I will give "The Words" a three out of five.
Well thanks for reading, I am hoping that you enjoyed this review and I hope you can too go enjoy "The Words." Now coming soon are reviews for a eight movie series . . . I have been anxiously been waiting to do these reviews. I won't be releasing them all at once, it will be over a time period of three days. Just thought I would keep you informed, so make sure you stay tuned for those reviews, and for more . . . coming soon.

War of the Worlds REVIEW
The "Motion Picture Buff" would like to present a review for the remaking of a classic story, "War of the Worlds." This review, as you can see above, is for the 2005 film directed by Steven Spielberg. "War of the Worlds" is about how aliens planned along time ago to wipe out our world and now they are. This film follows Ray Ferrier (Tom Cruise's character) who is trying to stay alive, and also keep his two children alive with him.
Starting of this review lets talk about the positives that had come from this movie shall we? Well the visual effects were just amazing. They had gotten an Oscar nomination for it so I guess they are REALLY amazing! The sound effects were also great, and not just to my standards though too. Apparently the Academy thought so too. This film stars Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning, Tim Robbins, and Justin Chatwin. They all did a fabulous job I thought in this movie. Tom Cruise seems to do a good job in every film he is in, so good job. I can see how Dakota is like one of the greatest rising young stars of my generation. She played her part perfectly, Steven Spielberg must taught her a lot making this film. Tim Robbins, I never knew he could play a part like that so well. Just absolutely believable. Then there is Justin Chatwin, to whom I have never heard of, and still to this day never heard of. He did a good job I thought. Hopefully I will see him sometime in the future.
Well now we have got to get to the negatives, because for this film there were quite a few things that had bothered me. The story line is what had really bothered me. Ugh at the end of this movie I was just like, "Nope nope, they better not do what I think they are going to do!" Guess what they did though? They did exactly what they should not have done, TWICE!!! Ugh made me so ridiculously angry because it was a halfway decent film until the end happened and those two things bothered the crap out of me. Then there was how the movie rapped up, and I was like, "Um um um NOPE!" Lets just say (without giving anything away) . . . that it was to simple. Then there was the reason of why did the aliens want to attack us? I never heard in the movie why? There had to be a reason right? Those were really the things that had bothered me, and they were just really major things for each of them.
So all-in-all this film is decent, that is what I will give it. You will enjoy watching it once, but its nothing that your going to be to excited about after. I will give it a "Rent Worthy" rating, which means its only really worth renting. If you ever think about buying it . . . don't. Trust me, you will regret it. The number rating on the scale though, I will have to give this movie a 3 out of 5.
Wel first thing I want to do in my wrap up here is that I want to apologize for the lack of reviews and information in the past weeks. I was on vacation in Norway, and had no time what so ever to do reviews, but I am back and I will be reviewing movies like crazy again. I will also be doing more "Trailer Talks" and more information on the movie industry. I want to say thank you for your continued support here on the blog also. I would like to point out before the end of this post here that the "Trailers for Upcoming Movies" tab above is now gone, and I will be introducing something better SOON! Now make sure you stay tuned for more . . .

Trailer Talk: "The Words"
I would like to introduce a new section of blogs that I will be doing here on the blog. So far I do movie reviews and movie information, but now I am going to introduce "Trailer Talk." This is going to be for me to pick out a trailer (every once in a while) for us to talk about. It will be though a trailer for an upcoming film. I did something like this for the "Taken 2" trailer, but this might be a little different. So shall we do this?
Well the trailer today I would like to talk about is the trailer for the feature film released by CBS Films, and it stars Bradley Cooper. It is called, "The Words." This motion picture is about a writer who must realize the price for stealing another mans work. I currently have the trailer on my "Trailers for Upcoming Films" page, or you can view it below:
Now lets talk about is now that you have seen the actual trailer. I want to say that this film really connects to me in a way because I am an aspiring writer to be. I will NEVER copy someone else's work though. I have millions of ideas that I need to write anyway. What I think about this film though is that it looks like it could be a very good film. It has a beautiful cast in it. Jeremy Irons, I LOVE his voice as always. I like the idea behind this film too. We will have to see though won't we? What do you think? Will you see it? What do you think of the trailer?
"The Words" will hit theaters on September 7th, 2012.
