Just saying THANK YOU!!!

Well well well. About four days ago my review site here just passed a great milestone! I had just passed 5000 pageviews. When starting this movie review site I would never had guessed that in just over a year I would have hit over 5000 views. It may not seem like that much, but to me I think it is. I love on some days how I can hit over 100 pageviews. It doesn't matter how bad of mood I could possibly be in but it just cheers me up.

Mainly I just want to say thanks to everyone who has been reading these reviews. I am glad I can entertain you with my reviews. If you have been with me from the beginning I want to make sure I apologize for not posting very many reviews from November 2012 to September 2013. I hated not reviewing movies and I am glad I am back to give you my opinion on movies and some movie news.

To thank you I am planning to release a few different things for the blog. It all depends on when I get the time, but for right now I am going to stick with reviews and my trailer of the week posts. I want to bring back the movie list page and possibly a must-see movie page where I have movies that are coming out that I want to see. Time will tell though.

Well again I want to say thanks again for helping me hit 5000 pageviews. The next milestone I want to hit is 10,000. Well hopefully you stay around to help and find out when. So stay tuned for more . . . coming really soon.

Thanks again, you are all awesome,

The Core REVIEW

The Motion Picture Buff would like the present a review for the motion picture, The Core. This movie came out in November of 2002. It is about how inside of the core of our planet has stopped spinning. Without it spinning the world will come to an end and soon. They must go into the Earth's crust to save all of us.

First of I want to say that I really did enjoy this movie quite a darn bit. It was intriguing and I LOVED the premise behind it. It was very interesting and I honestly could not take my eyes off the screen. Movies about the end of the world have always gave me some interest because it is just kind of cool to think of all the different things that could happen one day. The acting in the movie was decent. I am not going to say great because there were some points where each one of the actors could have done a little bit better with their performances. The actors and actresses who are in this movie include: Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank, Stanley Tucci, Richard Jenkins, and many more. They all do okay for what the movie is. I found it to be an enjoyable disaster movie. There are a lot of disaster movies out there, but I would have to say this would definitely hit some of my top ten disaster movies. The action keeps you on your toes and there is a part of you that actually does care about the characters that you learn about. I loved the science behind it. I mean yeah sure it probably isn't at all truthful but I still enjoyed it.

Now what did I hate about this movie . . . well for starters the special effects sucked! For a movie from 2002 I still did not expect them to be that bad, but they were just absolutely terrible. Everything thing looked fake. The acting wasn't great either. Aaron Eckhart wasn't the best with the really emotional parts. I didn't believe it when he was sad, it just wasn't good. He just didn't seem real enough. All the actors in this movie could have done better, but they weren't terrible. Now the story in this movie of course is choppy and ridiculous, but remember it is a disaster movie.

All-in-all this movie is a pretty darn enjoyable for what it is. I would say it is a perfect popcorn movie night movie. It was perfect for that last night when I watched it. I wouldn't buy it on blu-ray, but it is DVD buy worthy. Out of a ten rating I would have to give it a 7/10 rating. It was pretty darn good.

Well I hope you have enjoyed this review of The Core. Go check the movie out one night when you need a good enjoyable disaster film. Stay tuned here for more reviews coming. Thanks for reading everyone!

Braveheart REVIEW

The Motion Picture Buff would like to present a review for the 1996 Best Picture Winner, Braveheart! This film is about the rebellion of Scotland against England in the 13th Century. William Wallace was the the heart and soul of this rebellion after his secret wife was murdered after she assaulted a King's soldier with whom tried to rape her.

Let me just say first that I absolutely LOVE this movie. It is no doubt one of my favorite films of all time. This movie is before Mel Gibson went insane, and let me just say that he did a fine job with this film. Mel Gibson was in charge of directing and acting in this movie, but yet the movie is just fantastic. Sure the effects and fighting scenes are a little outdated but this movie is old so it is acceptable. While talking about the action sequences I guess I could say that they are pretty darn awesome. I remember the first time I watched this movie and saw all of them I was just so intrigued by them. I loved each and every one of them. The reasoning of why William Wallace fights against the English is just perfect too. I am a big romantic and the fact that William does this all because his wife had been killed is just great. Moving on to the acting . . . all the main actors in the film do a surprisingly fantastic job! On that really stands out to me though is Mel Gibson's performance. You just believe that he is William Wallace. I think Mel Gibson just transformed into him. You can see it in his eyes and just his overall performance, I honestly think he should have at least been nominated for his performance. Next I want to talk about the screenplay/script. I think it works it may be historically inaccurate but most movies based on true events have fudged the truth to an extent. As I am writing it this right now my sister is watching the film and crying. I would have to say that it works because it really captivates people and engrosses them into the film. Another thing great about this movie is the ending really. I just love the ending and since I don't know if you have seen the movie or not I will not spoil it for you. Trust me when I say though that you should enjoy it though.

Now for the bad things about this movie. Now this film being one of my top ten favorites I can't really think of anything bad. But as I will be giving this film a 9/10 there has to be one thing wrong with it. I guess I would say that the movie can drag on just a bit. It is a three hour movie and there are some parts where the movie just seems to take forever. The only bad thing I would say about it.

So summarizing it all up this movie is for sure a GREAT movie. It has everything a great movie should have and more. You will for sure enjoy, "Braveheart" anytime you watch it. It is a popcorn movie night film in case you were wondering. Anytime you need a movie for a night of movies this would be a great pick. I would for sure give it a BUY ON Blu-Ray rating, along with the rating I said earlier a 9/10 rating. It defiantly deserved its five Oscars, and for sure deserved that Oscar for Best Picture.

Well I hope you have enjoyed this review of "Braveheart." Make sure you tune back in for more reviews and movie talk later on. If you would like us on Facebook HERE, that would be great too. Again thanks for reading.

Many Apologies

Hello readers,

I know I have said this countless times before but I am back. I am in a new apartment and I am focused on my life and my career. I want to get focused on reviewing again, I want to get back into reviewing movies again, and what better way than to continue with the site I already have. Even while I have been gone for almost a year I have still been getting lots of people reading my reviews which makes me happy. I right now have over 4000 page views. Now I hope by the end of the year I can at least double that and make a review of a movie at least four times a week. I will also do posts on other things related to the movie industry like: favorite actor/actress, what makes an actor/actress great, top movies, and others.

Now you should expect a review by the end of today or tomorrow. Then after that I hope to release a review at least every other day. So make sure you subscribe by email in the sidebar so you are emailed when I do post, or just stop by everyday to see if I have done a review.

Thanks for remaining loyal to me,

Noah Mark Bitney
