TRAILER OF THE WEEK: A Case of You

It's that time of the week already . . . time for a new TRAILER OF THE WEEK. This week's trailer is for a romantic comedy starring Justin Long, A Case of You. This film has already been out at a film festival back in April of 2013, but will be getting another release (a limited one) on November 6th. This film is about a young writer who tries to impress a girl he meets online with an embellished profile. She ends up falling for him which leaves him in a mess because he has to keep up the act.

Well now why did I pick this trailer to be this week's trailer of the week. Hm well it is really simple actually. I absolutely am a sucker for romantic movies, and this one got my attention right away to be honest. I think Justin Long is a decent enough actor and it seems like he might do a good job in this movie. I like the story of how he is putting on a charade to impress this girl, but then she ends up falling for the fake him instead of the real him. I am curious to see where this movie could go. When looking at this movie on IMDb, it does not seem like it has a good rating, it has a 5.1/10 star rating, but that does not mean it will be bad. I have seen movies on IMDb before with like a four star rating and I absolutely loved it. With movies it is usually just your opinion no matter what anyone else says. It is all based on your personal opinion of the movie.

So, A Case of You, is a movie that is definitely going to go in must-see list. I will keep it on my radar because it seems like a good romantic movie, and I just LOVE romantic movies. Yeah I might be a guy but I am a sucker for them. Well what did you think of this week's choice for a trailer? What kind of movie would you like to see on next week's trailer. Stay tuned to find out and for more reviews . . . coming soon.

TRAILER OF THE WEEK: American Hustle

Its Wednesday and that means it is Trailer of the Week time!!! This weeks trailer is for a movie due out also on December 25th, 2013, and it is for American Hustle. This film is about a con man, Irving Rosenfeld, along with his seductive British partner, Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for a wild FBI adent, Richie DiMaso. DiMas pushes them into a world of Jersey power-brokers and mafia (source: IMDb).

Well now we get to why I picked this trailer this week. There are a few reasons why I picked this film, and one of them is being the cast of the film. The main cast of this film includes: Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Robert De Niro, and Jeremy Renner. I love each and every one of these actor/actresses. They are all fantastic in everything they do and now we have a movie with all of them together. Next I wanted to mention the director of this movie. David O. Russell is a great director. Silver Linings Playbook last year was absolutely fantastic and I am really excited to see what he does with this movie. I love mob movies like my favorite movie of all time, The Departed. This story of the movie seems like a very good mob movie and I am excited to see this film. This movie should definitely on anyones radar because it is for sure going to be up for Oscar talks.

To watch this trailer, just check out the sidebar this week to see it, otherwise go check it out on YouTube. I have already added this movie to my watch list and I recommend if you like serious dramas and mob movies you should do the same. It seems like a very good film and we will just have to wait and see how it is on December 25th, 2013. Well make sure you stay tuned here at the Motion Picture Buff for the review of American Hustle because I will be checking this movie out in theaters. Make sure you also stay tuned for more reviews and movie talk . . . coming soon.

Trailer Talk of "Iron Man 3"

Okay so here we GO!!! Marvel's "The Avengers" was released in May, and so of course there is going to be more of Iron Man, Thor, Captian America, and others to set up another "Avengers" film. "Iron Man 3" is the first release since "The Avengers." Now before I get into things from the trailer make sure you watch it above!

So first of all I just yesterday came to the conclusion that Iron Man for sure is my number one favorite superhero. I am sorry Batman but it is the truth. He just is cocky, super smart, and all around badass! Now for "Iron Man 3" I was a little scared because Jon Favreau wasn't at the helm of directing, but after seeing this trailer all of my concerns were thrown out the window! Holy buckets does this movie look like a freaking epic film. I like how they show that Tony Stark is having issues after the events of "The Avengers." It makes the whole story line a lot more realistic. Now for this film it seems like it is going to be a lot darker than the rest. What I mean by this is that it seems to have a tone to it that makes it feel scary and just more real. Now the threat in this film is HUGE! They make it seem like Tony's world is just crumpling around him, and that he is going to have to rely on his best weapon . . . his intellect.

So am I excited for "Iron Man 3?" HELL TO THE YES! Iron Man is the best, and this film already look like a badass movie. My plan is to order IMAX tickets as soon as possible so I make sure I get a seat at midnight! What about you though? What do you think about this trailer? Let me know below and stay tuned for more.

Trailer Talk: "Promised Land"

Well hey readers of the "Motion Picture Buff." I thought I would (finally) create the second addition to my segment on the blog here, Trailer Talk. On July 22nd of this year I introduced it with talking about the trailer for the feature film, "The Words." To see that original post click HERE. So now I would like to continue that segment.

In this edition of Trailer Talk, I want to talk about the trailer for the motion picture, "Promised Land," which is due out January 11th, 2013. This film stars Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Francis McDormand, and Hal Holbrook. The synopsis of this film is a salesman for a natural gas company experiences life-changing events after arriving in a small town, where his corporation wants to tap into the available resources. View the trailer for "Promised Land" below:

So why did I pick this trailer to talk about? Well I think this movie looks extremely heartbreaking. I also love the cast within this film. Matt Damon always seems to do a great job, but then there is the real actor that I am excited to see in a film that might grab us by surprise, John Krasinski. He always seems to do a great job (like in the TV series "The Office" but I think he might do really well in this film. I also really like the premise of this film and the message I think it will try and convey. So all-in-all this is going to have to be on my "Watch-List."

What are your thoughts though after watching this trailer? What do you think its all about? You going to see it? Leave a comment below and let me know.

"Promised Land" hits theaters January 11th, 2013.

Trailer Talk: "The Words"

I would like to introduce a new section of blogs that I will be doing here on the blog. So far I do movie reviews and movie information, but now I am going to introduce "Trailer Talk." This is going to be for me to pick out a trailer (every once in a while) for us to talk about. It will be though a trailer for an upcoming film. I did something like this for the "Taken 2" trailer, but this might be a little different. So shall we do this?

Well the trailer today I would like to talk about is the trailer for the feature film released by CBS Films, and it stars Bradley Cooper. It is called, "The Words." This motion picture is about a writer who must realize the price for stealing another mans work. I currently have the trailer on my "Trailers for Upcoming Films" page, or you can view it below:

Now lets talk about is now that you have seen the actual trailer. I want to say that this film really connects to me in a way because I am an aspiring writer to be. I will NEVER copy someone else's work though. I have millions of ideas that I need to write anyway. What I think about this film though is that it looks like it could be a very good film. It has a beautiful cast in it. Jeremy Irons, I LOVE his voice as always. I like the idea behind this film too. We will have to see though won't we? What do you think? Will you see it? What do you think of the trailer?

"The Words" will hit theaters on September 7th, 2012.
