Mirror Mirror REVIEW

The "Motion Picture Buff" would like to present a review for the movie "Mirror Mirror" starring Julia Roberts. In this film an evil queen stole control of the kingdom. She wants Snow White dead so she stays the fairest of them all, and also so she continues to be queen. After Snow White is exiled into the dark forrest she befriends dwarf bandits who help her regain her birthright.

So I think I should start with the positives that come with this movie shall I? It's going to be a short list. There is humor in it that maybe and I mean maybe makes you smile. Julia Roberts is just different in this film which in a sense I kinda love, and just the cast all around are enjoyable in this film.

The rest of the film is just crap I am going to have to say. The whole plot is just childish and completely unoriginal. You just sit their thinking, "What did I get myself into?" When I said this movie is childish, well I am not saying it is for children either. It would be a good children movie if it wasn't trying so hard, but instead we get a sorry use of film. The whole film is just over the top goofy. The cinematography too is just different and over the top. Its a strain on your eyes.  The humor I said maybe makes you smile but most of the time it is just so childish you just sit their and think, "Was this supposed to be funny?" Throughout the film you should develop with the characters and care, but in all reality you just want the movie to be over. The whole movie goes over in a blur and the whole time you were just bored out of your mind. Then the ending is just terribly quick and seems extremely unnatural. Plus it was a sad moment to see the actor that was in this film . . . really you can do better than this film.

So all-in-all I can't even create a normal sized review for "Mirror Mirror" because I have already said all I can say about it. For the ratings I will give it the last-minute rent worthy rating. Want some humor and your really can't find ANYTHING else you might as well choose this. You might find some enjoyment. As for the rating, "Mirror Mirror" is going to get a 1.5/5 star rating, just cause I loved the cast and some of the humor. Plus it's Snow White with a twist.

Well thank you for reading and I really hope you enjoyed this review. Van Helsing REVIEW

The "Motion Picture Buff" would like to present a review for the film, "Van Helsing." In this movie legendary monster hunter Van Helsing (played by Hugh Jackman) is summoned to Transylvania on a mission. The mission is to stop the evil vampire Dracula and foil his plans.

Well seeing as this movie has a lot of these I am going to start with the negatives of it. Well lets start with the plot and story line eh? First thing to say is, "WOW what a complete mess. The storyline just jumps around and is a complete mess. It is also boring and not at all interesting. In reality it is just creeping and dumb. Stephen Sommers I am sorry to say but your created a poor film here. The scenes are choppy too. Moving onward though I am going to say that the I really hate Kate Beckinsale. She may be good looking and all but nope terrible actress in this film. I would also have to say that really all the acting in this film wasn't the greatest except two actors. It just wasn't the kind that meant anything to me., you know what I mean?  The effects were not that good at all I would have to say, just blah boring. The look of movie too was also annoying because it was always so dark and mysterious (this could also have to do with the direction but Stephen Sommers). It just got confusing and annoying I guess.

Positives that come from this movie? Good make-up on the actors and creating the creatures (well some). Um I would also like to say that Richard Roxburgh did a great job as Count Dracula. There was also Kevin J. O'Conner who played the Igor. I thought he did a good job too. Other than that . . . I can't think of anything. Oh wait I thought the action in the film was pretty well done I guess. Thats all that kept me interested. Actually the score was decent too, by my man Alan Silvestri! He does a good job.

So all-in-all a short review because this film isn't one of the greatest. I was deceived by my sisters when they said this film was amazing. Well the ratings? I honestly wouldn't even give this a last-minute rent worthy, but if you like vampires and werewolf's and fantasy stuff like that you might . . . just might like it. So there is the only way it applies to the last-minute rent worthy rating. On a scale out of five what is it going to get? Well "Van Helsing" I guess can get a 1.5/5 rating.

Well thanks for reading this review, I hope you enjoyed it. Probably not one of my best because I did watch it last week and I remembered hating it GREATLY! Just not sure of every single detail about it. No need to check it out . . . I remember being bored while watching it. Again thanks for reading and make sure you stay tuned for more . . . coming soon.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off REVIEW

The "Motion Picture Buff" would like to review the film called, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" which stars Matthew Brodrick as you obviously saw above. Well the basic plot of this film is that Ferris (Matthew's character) skips school for the day, and in which the movie follows his adventure for the day. Now I know this film is a classic, and loads of people love this movie more than others. Here is what I have to day about this film though . . .

To start off this review lets talk about the positives I have to say about this film. Hmmm . . . well I really loved the lesson of this movie, what the movie was trying to say to us. It is a good life lesson that I want to live by for the rest of my life, and it is a lesson everyone in the world should live by. That message is that we should learn to enjoy the world as it is, and take in simple joys that come of it. Like I like to say grab life as it comes at you because you never know how much time you have. Another thing I liked was the performance by Alan Ruck. I feel like he did an amazing job in the film, the whole way through too, which I love by the way. One last thing I have to say for positives now, which was that it made me laugh a couple times

Really though that was it for positives for this film. Negatives we shall get to now. Well it was completely and utterly ridiculous. I realize that this movie is made to make us laugh, but I hate that kind of humor where they are shoving it down your throats. Humor should be natural really in my opinion. Okay until you see the next set of capital letters it will be a SPOILER ALERT: In the end, there is no way in hell that any kind in any world would get away with all the stuff he just got away with. So it lost points for that. END OF SPOILER ALERT! I hate when Matthew was talking to the camera. I hate when movies do that. It requires no acting at all in my opinion. Just looking at camera and reading off lines (which were probably behind the camera). Which leads me to Matthew's performance which was good and bad throughout the film. He would do good and then bad, which angers me. Then Ferris's sister character was just annoying throughout the film, no good at all. I do want to say again though all of it, the whole plot was just absolutely ridiculous. Like I said above, I liked the message but I want to say that it was just poorly conceived in this film. Especially all the sympathy and concern over Ferris (if you have seen the movie you will get what I am saying there). It was just dumb and UGH.

So all-in-all you don't need to ever seen this movie. If people say you are missing out because you haven't seen it, well simply they are lying to you. If you need a last-minute rent though, well then I guess you could pick it. You might enjoy it, but I sure as heck didn't. For it's rating I am going to have to give it a 1.5/5. I just really didn't enjoy it at all. Yes I know its a classic film, but nope not a classic in my eyes.

Well first thing I want to say here in my conclusion is sorry. I have been busy with work, friends, and family to make time for a review. Today and tomorrow though I will be creating more reviews and some other things I want to bring to the blog here for fun. I hope your going to enjoy them. Due Date REVIEW

The "Motion Picture Buff" would like to present a review for the feature film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis, "Due Date." This film follow Peter (Robert's character) who is trying to get home before his wife has their first child, but along the way Ethan (Zach's character) "accidentally" sabotages ways to get there. They are in a hurry to get home before she has the baby.

For this review lets start with the positives of this movie shall we? Well I really do like Robert Downey Jr. in this movie. He always seems to play his parts in the movie very well, he just seems to become his character very well. I would though have to say that the rest of the acting in this movie was eh (get to it later). The plot of this film was very good. I did really like it, it seemed to flow very well. It kept me interested I guess I could say (exceptions below). Um . . . there were a couple parts I guess where it was a little funny but not all of it was really. This movie did do a very good job at getting to your heart though, and Robert has helped with that quite a bit actually. Oh, Zach could also touch your heart too. So yes it had somewhat of a good message to it, and I do like how it ended the film. It seemed like it was a realistic ending (somewhat).

Now this movie is nowhere near perfect (like "The Dark Knight Rises"), so it does in fact have quite a few negatives to it. To start them off I am going to have to say I am getting sick of Zach Galifianakis's performance's as a dumb-ass. They are starting to get annoying, can he even pull of a serious role as a main character. Sure thats what he does best at, but it has to come to a point where it just becomes annoying. Well, he hit that with this movie. The other performances in this film were so short that it really never matter. Even though they didn't even see, like they were acting. Just seemed like they were asked to read this line for the film. Moving on to the plot, well there were some gaps in it at point, but I can't give anything away so I can say where, but when watching the film you will see some huge gaps. Um, I didn't like who all of a sudden something between the Peter and Ethan changed. Seemed a little unrealistic. It was like one second this, then blink and it was changed already. Oh and how funny was this movie? Well I laughed maybe (and I mean maybe once) otherwise I might have smiled at one part. Other than that it was again another shove down your throat funny movie.

So all-in-all a somewhat heartfelt movie, that tries to be funny, but has one good actor in it! Um not really a movie you should ever buy, um I guess if you couldn't find anything better and want something new to watch (and its a last minute thing) you could rent this. That will be my rating there, on the scale I will give it a 2.5/5 rating. Now leave a comment below if you have seen this movie (or after seeing it) telling me what you thought about this film.
