Thor REVIEW

In honor of Iron Man 3 being released on Blu-Ray, Marvel's Agents of Shield premiering on ABC tonight, and Thor: The Dark World tickets being available, the Motion Picture Buff would like to present a review for the film Thor. In this film the powerful but arrogant god of thunder, Thor, is banished to planet Earth. Here he learns the true meaning of ruling and power.

Now lets begin with the negatives of this film shall we? Firstly I would like to mention that going into this movie I thought it was going to be absolutely terrible, but in fact I really did enjoy this movie. There were only few negatives to this film to be accurate. It is a little childish in my eyes. The scenery and feel of this movie has a little bit to much of a comic book feel to it. Other Avengers films do not have this feel. Yes a few others have this feel like Iron Man 2, but this one for sure has this feeling. The dialogue in this film could have been a little better too. It seems just a little bit forced. The last thing I wanted to mention is the performance of Natalie Portman. I really do not like her in this movie. She does not seem like an actress who could be in a comic book film and for sure she does not pull it off. Her performance just seems silly, forced, and she does not fit the character she plays.

It is time to talk about positives though now. Every single actor in this film does a great job, actor not actress. I feel the performances by the men in this film were very good. Don't get me wrong actresses are great but just not in this film. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston have amazing chemistry together. They really do seem like brothers in this film. They have the look in there eyes, and in the end scene together you can really see the emotion in Chris's face. Chris really becomes the character of Thor. When casting these Avenger movies they really did a good job with it. Tom Hiddleston as Loki was AMAZING! He really is the god of mischief, he pulls of this character so well I just do not see anyone else pulling it off as perfectly as him. They really found the right actor to play Loki. Of course the other actors in this film did just as well, but I really wanted to emphasize those two. Moving on though I do want to talk about the director of this film. A movie like this has got to be hard to direct and when I heard it was Gilderoy Lockhart from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Kenneth Branagh, I just about shit a brick. I was like, "Well done sir, well done." With the little expectations I had for this movie I was kind of blown out of my seat. He did a great job with Thor. The action of this movie was intense and exciting. I was interested in the full movie, and I loved how we got more of Agent Coulson in this movie.

Summing this review up I would say that Thor is a great start for a great superhero. It really helps add to the story that is crucial for The Avengers. It is a must-see film just like every Avenger movie is. I would buy this on Blu-Ray though, it looks way more spectacular if purchased on Blu-Ray and it is for surely worth it. Thor would also be a great popcorn bowl movie night film. Need a movie to watch one night, this movie works perfectly. Seen it before though? I still say that it is worth watching over and over. It is worth watching more than once. For the rating though I would give Thor a 7/10 rating.
