7/3/12 Box Office Report

Last night was the midnight premiere of the reboot film of the spiderman films "The Amazing Spiderman." So how did it do? Well "The Amazing Spiderman" received $7.5 million dollars from midnight showings last night. IMAX reported $1.2 million of that money or 16 percent. Sony reported also that its $7.5 million made from Spidey's reboot lat night, was identical to Spiderman 3's midnight showings in May of 2007. There are many contributing factors to both of these movies and why such a low gross at midnight.

The new spidey film just opened up right before the 4th of July holiday, so many people are shipping out for there vacations. For May of 2007 Spiderman, it was because kids were still in school. It is hard to tell where "The Amazing Spiderman" could go in its six day weekend. It might pass the $100 million mark, but it is really a tough one to tell on how much it will make. We will have to see.

What do you think though? Will the new "Amazing Spiderman" gross a lot of money on its first weekend?
